OUR SYSTEM
Our server is connected to UUNET by a T3 (45 Mb/sec) link, to SPRINT by a T3 (45 Mb/sec) link and to Level3 Networks (Seattle Internet Xchange) by an OC-3 fibreoptic link at 100 Mb/sec.
These are 3 seperate full-transit bearers to 3 different network providers.
To put this speed into perspective for a layman - if your PC is on a LAN there is a big chance it is ethernet - the connection from our web server to the Internet backbone is 19 times faster than your ethernet LAN. You could also think of it as being equivalent to about 3500 56K modems.
Reliability is a cornerstone of our system.
Not only are our network connections fully redundant (3 seperate providers), but our hardware system connects to the Internet via 2 redundant Cisco series 7513 routers.
If one router should fail then the other takes over its full function instantly and automatically. This minimises downtime and ensures that your business is always online.
